Each year, Rutgers UNICEF participates in several events that keep us involved in the community. Click through the gallery below to learn more about the events we host or partake in.
Our biggest opportunity of the year is an immersive trip to the Dominican Republic. We spend over a week in the DR visiting schools, meeting with government representatives, and learning more about the culture of the country. To see a video from a past trip, click here.
Our group frequently visits in the Ronald McDonald House in New Brunswick. In the past, we have done lawn work, cooked meals for the families who stay there, and made holiday cards for the children. Click here to learn more about the Ronald McDonald House.
In the spring, we organized the Water Walk. Members walked with heavy buckets of water over a two mile stretch to simulate the struggle of obtaining clean water in other countries. Along the way, we passed out refillable water bottles to those we met in the street. Learn more about the UNICEF Tap Project here.
Each fall, we raise funds for Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF by giving out treats in exchange for donations. Learn more about Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF here.
Each year, we host a coffeehouse where Rutgers students with a variety of talents perform throughout the night to raise money against human trafficking.
